Ratnaparkhi hammers 89 as TOI win


Subodh Ratnaparkhi hammered 89 runs as The Times of India (TOI) drubbed Dainik Bhaskar by 123 runs in 21st Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI at Ambedkar College ground, here on Saturday. 
Batting first TOI piled up 208 for 1 in 20 overs. Thanks to opener Ratnaparkhi who slammed 89 hitting 12 boundaries and two sixes. Pratik Siddharth also sent the rival bowlers on leather hunt and knocked off unbeaten 63 with the help of six boundaries. 
In reply, Dainik Bhaskar lost their wickets at regular interval and were bowled out for a paltry 85 in 18.5 overs. Only Mangesh Thakre (30) showed some resistance. for TOI, Faizul Qumar and Vinay Panday snared three wickets each. NDBA vice-president CA Amit Bajaj gave man-of-the-match trophy to Subodh Ratnaparkhi.

Baitute shines as Tarun Bharat qualify


Riding on Nitin Baitule's all round performance (62 runs, four wickets) Tarun Barat drubbed Sakal by seven wickets to  enter the qualifying round  in 21st Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Associaiton of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI at Ambedkar College ground, here on Thursday. 
Batting first Sakal scored 129 all out in 18.1 overs. Thanks to tailender Nilesh Doye who scored 49. He was ably supported by Shubham Kathawate (29). 
In reply Tarun Bharat chased the target in 16.2 overs losing just three wickets with Baitule slamming 62 with the help of seven boundaries and three sixes. 
In the qualifiers Lokmat will play Tarun Bharat, The Times of India will lock horns with Dainik Bhaskar whereas The Hitavada will clash with Punyanagari.

Patariya slams another ton as Lokmat win


Nitin Patariya slammed another century as Lokmat drubbed Loksatta by 155 runs to top the pool 'B' in Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI at Ambedkar College ground, here on Wednesday. 
Batting first Lokmat piled up 254 for 5 in 20 overs. Patariya playing in his usual style hammered 118 in 48 balls hitting 11 boundaries and eight sixes. Skipper Amit Khodke hit 31-ball 57 whereas Nitin Shriwas contributed 30. 
In reply, Loksatta were all out for 100. Thanks to Raviraj Ambedkar who claimed four wickets for just 6 runs. In another match, batting first Punyanagari scored 182 for 6 in 20 overs. Pankaj Pande's played captains knock of 89. Shrikant Bondre (54) also batted well. 
In reply, Dainik Bhaskar were bowled out for a paltry 53. Thanks to Sunil Khorgade who ripped through the batting line up and captured six wickets. 
Secretary of Nagpur District Volleyball Associaiton Sunil Hande distributed the man-of-the-match prizes.

Ratnaparkhi, Pande tons power TOI-MT to big win

Unbeaten centuries by Subodh Ratnaparkhi and Vinay Pandey powered The Times Of India-Maharashtra Times to 148-run win over Sakal in a league match of the 21st Inter-Press Cricket Tournament on Tuesday. The meet is being organized by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and State Bank of India (SBI).
TOI-MT skipper Piyush Patil’s decision to bat first proved right despite opener Pratik Siddharth’s dismissal in the second over. The other opener, Ratnaparkhi, in company of No. 3 batsman Pande took the Sakal bowlers to the cleaners.
The Ratnaparkhi-Pande pair added 232 runs for the second wicket in just 109 balls. Ratnaparkhi hammered unbeaten 104 runs in just 53 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and four sixes. At the other end, Pande blasted 112 runs in 58 balls. Pande hit 17 boundaries and three sixes as former champions TOI-MT piled up 248 for 1 in 20 overs.
The target proved way beyond Sakal’s reach as they were restricted to 100 for 7 in 20 overs. Left-arm spinner Rammurti Nerlay snapped up two wickets while Pande took two wickets. Patil and Prashant Nimbarte took one wicket each.
In the other match of the day, defending champions Hitavada defeated Tarun Bharat by five wickets. Skipper Susheem Kolay and Bhupendra Singh took three wickets each as Tarun Bharat were bowled out for 128 in 18.2 overs. Shrikant Bedekar, Anupam Timothy and Kshitij Udar took one wicket each. Lakhan Jaiswal (39) and skipper Mannu Bawa (33) were the main contributor for Tarun Bahrat.
Hitavada chased down the target in 15.1 overs for the loss of just two wickets thanks to opener Kamlesh Waghire’s quickfire unbeaten knock of 84. Waghire hit 15 boundaries in his 54-ball knock. Anupam Timothy chipped in with 31 runs.
With third win in as many league matches, TOI-MT is on the top of the Group 'A' points table. Hitavada, with two wins from three matches, have finished second. The third team to advance to Qualifiers Stage from Group 'A' will be decided on Saturday when Tarun Bharat take on Sakal.

Khodke guides Lokmat into big win

Leading from the front Amit Khodke played an unbeaten knock of 49 runs  to script seven-wicket victory over Dainik Bhaskar in 21st  Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and State Bank of India (SBI) on Monday. 
In another match, Punyanagari drubbed Loksatta by seven wickets. At Vasant Nagar batting first Dainik Bhaskar scored 105 for 7 in 20 overs.  Skipper Rahul Thakur (50) and Mangesh Thakre (31) were the main scorers. For Lokmat Pravin Lokhande claimed four wickets for 18 runs. In reply Lokmat Achieved the target in 9.5 overs losing just three wickets. Khodke slammed 49 in just 24 balls hitting eight boundaries. He was well supported by Nitin Pataria (34) and Nitin Shriwas (17). Khodke was declared man-of-the-match. 
In another match batting first Loksatta made 93 for 7. Chandrakant Kuthe made unbeaten 33. Punyanagari achieved the target in 9.3 overs losing just three wickets. Let-handed Pankaj Pande remained unbeaten on 59. Pande was also adjudged as man-of-the-match.

Rupesh Bhaik and Kamlesh Waghire played strokeful knocks as their respective teams recorded victories in the ongoing 21st Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur in association with OCW and State Bank of India on Sunday. 
At Ambedkar College ground TOI drubbed Tarun Bharat by 74 runs. Batting first TOI scored 208 for five in 20 overs. Thanks to Bhaik who slammed 88. He was well supported by Subodh Ratnaparkhi (67) and Piyush Patil (20). 
In reply Tarun Bharat were all out for 135 in 18.3 overs. Nitin Baitule's 63 run knock went in vain.  For TOI, Sandeep Dabhekar and Vinay Panndey claimed two wickets each. 
At Vasant Nagar ground The Hitavada recorded five-wicket victory over Sakal. batting first Sakal were all out for 110 in 17.5 overs. Pritesh Uchkalwar (29), Shubham Kathode (15) and Sarang Chavan (14) were main scorers. For The Hitavada Anupam Timothy claimed four wickets. 
In reply The Hitavada achieved the target in 15.2 overs. Kamlesh Waghire (45) and  Anupam timothy (39) ensured the big win.

Patariya's ton in Lokmat's big victory




































Opening batsman Nitin Patariya's explosive century helped last years runners-up Lokmat to drub Punyanagari by huge margin of 189 runs on the second day of Inter-Press Cricket Tournament being organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur in association with OCW and State Bank of India at Vasant Nagar ground, here on Friday. 
Lokmat won the toss and elected to bat first. They piled up a massive total of 269 for 5 in 20 overs. Thanks to Patariya who slammed 108 in just 42 balls hitting 11 sixes and four boundaries. Sharad Mishra (73, 29b, 3x6, 8x4) was another batsmen who sent the rival bowlers on lether hunt. Nitin Shriwas (38, 14b, 2x6, 4x4), Pravin Lokhande (22) and skipper Amit Khodke (17) were other scorers. 
For Punyaanagari, Shridhhar Hatagade and Shrikant Bandre claimed two wickets each. 
In reply, Punyanagari lost their wickets at regular interval and were bundled out for a paltry 79. Only left-handed Pankaj Pande (41) managed to cross the double figures.  For Lokmat Sachin Rahangdale and Pramod Ingole got two wickets each. 
Former Vidarbha cricketer and VCA  secretary Ashok Bhagwat and Sunil Mujumdar of Mujumdar Cricket Academy gave away Gangadharo Chinchole memorial man-of-the-match trophy and cash prize to Nitin Patariya.
