TOI-MT make yet another final in SJAN Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament


Nagpur: Skipper Piyush Patil once again delivered an all-round performance as The Times of India-Maharashtra Times made light work of Sakal by 48 runs to qualify for the final of the 26th Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament organised by the Sports Journalist Association of Nagpur (SJAN) on Monday.

Batting first, TOI made 148 for 9 in their stipulated 20 overs, with Rupesh Bhaik (34), Subodh Ratnaparkhi (31), Piyush Patil (29), Amit Paunikar (15) and Sandeep Dabhekar (11) scoring in double digits.

In reply, TOI bowled a tight length to bundle out Sakal for 100 runs in 15.2 overs. While Patil scalped 3 wickets, giving away 15 runs, Atul Pande remained consistent with his match haul of 3 wickets for the 4th successive time.

Renowned chef Vishnu Manohar presented the man-of-the-match award to Piyush Patil.

On Tuesday, the second semifinal will be played between Lokmat and Navbharat.

 आंतरप्रेस टी-२० क्रिकेट : 'सकाळ'च्या नितीन बैतुलेची खेळी व्यर्थ


नागपूर, ता. ७ : सामनावीर नितीन पटारियाच्या धुवाधार अर्धशतकाच्या जोरावर गतविजेत्या लोकमत संघाने स्पोर्ट्स जर्नालिस्ट असोसिएशन ऑफ नागपूर (एसजेएएन) तर्फे आयोजित २५ व्या आंतरप्रेस टी-२० क्रिकेट स्पर्धेतील शेवटच्या साखळी सामन्यात दैनिक 'सकाळ'चा ४४ धावांनी पराभव करून लागोपाठ चौथा विजय नोंदविला. 
वसंतनगर मैदानावर शुक्रवारी झालेला हा सामना ओलसर खेळपट्टीमुळे प्रत्येकी १० षटकांचा खेळविण्यात आला. 'सकाळ'ने नाणेफेक जिंकल्यानंतर प्रथम फलंदाजी करणाऱ्या लोकमतने निर्धारित १० षटकांत ४ बाद १३६ अशी मजबूत धावसंख्या उभारली. पटारियाने नऊ चौकार व सात षटकारांच्या मदतीने अवघ्या ३९ चेंडूंत ९४ धावा ठोकल्या. तर नितीन श्रीवासने १५ व सारंग वलवटकरने १२ धावांचे योगदान दिले. 'सकाळ'कडून सचिन बेलवलकरने दोन व कर्णधार अविष्कार देशमुखने एक गडी बाद केला. 

विजयी लक्ष्याचा पाठलाग करताना 'सकाळ'चा संघ १० षटकांत ७ बाद ९२ धावांपर्यंतच मजल मारू शकला. नितीन बैतुलेने सर्वाधिक ४४ धावा (१९ चेंडू, ४ चौकार, ३ षटकार) केल्या. याशिवाय अमित रोशनखेडेने १४ व अविष्कारने ११ धावा काढल्या. लोकमतकडून देवेंद्र सदावर्तीने २६ धावांत तीन आणि शरद मिश्राने २२ धावांत दोन बळी टिपले. पटारियाने एक गडी बाद केला. 'मॅचविनिंग' खेळी केल्याबद्दल पटारियाला सामनावीर पुरस्काराने गौरविण्यात आले. रविवारी (ता. ८) दैनिक 'भास्कर' आणि तरुण भारत यांच्यात शेवटचा साखळी सामना खेळला जाणार आहे.

Defending Champions Lokmat enter semis

 


Nagpur: Nitin Pataria, Devendra Sadawarti, Deep Sudhakar and Sachin Khadke took 2 wickets each as defending champions Lokmat prevailed over Punya Nagari by 9 wickets to enter the semifinals of the SJAN Inter-Press T20 cricket tournament at the Vasant Nagar ground on Thursday.

Batting first, Punya Nagari were bundled out for 52 runs, while Lokmat took just 4.5 overs to chase the target.

Later, director Department of Physical Education and Sports, Nagpur University, Sambhaji Bhonsale gave the Man of the Match award to Deep Sudhakar.

Brief Scores: Punya Nagari 52-10 in 11.4 overs (Shridhar Hatagade 23, Dipak Mane 10, Nitin Pataria 2-7, Devendra Sadawarti 2-8, Deep Sudhakar 2-17, Sachin Khadke 2-19) lost to Lokmat 53-1 in 4.5 overs (Sharad Mishra 36*, Nitin Pataria 10) by 9 wickets.

Navbharat regains momentum, posts easy win in SJAN cricket

 


In the SJAN Inter-Press Cricket tournament at the Vasant Nagar Ground, Tarun Bharat elected to bat after winning the toss but suffered early setbacks and were bowled out for 64 in 14.2 overs. Dinesh Borkar top-scored with 25, while Abhishek Singh (3-19), Manish Shrivas (2-8) and Junaid Sheikh (2-13) led Navbharat’s bowling effort. Navbharat then chased down the target comfortably, reaching 68 for 1 in 9.3 overs. Ujjwal Kumar Sinha made 26 and Junaid Sheikh scored 20 as Navbharat won by nine wickets. 

Abhishek Singh won the Man of the Match award.

Unbeaten Harshal shines in Sakal's 105-run win

SJAN Inter-Press T20 tournament 

Harshal Kuthe’s match-winning 94 helped Sakal to get the better of Loksatta by 105 runs in the SJAN Inter-Press T20 cricket tournament at the Vasant Nagar ground on Sunday.

Batting first, Sakal scored 174-7 in 20 overs. While Harshal remained on 94 with the help of nine hits to the fence and three sixes, Amit Roshankede added 23 runs. For Loksatta, Rajeshwar Thakare took a hat-trick giving away 41 runs.

In reply, Loksatta were bowled out for 69 in 13.1 overs. Nilesh Doye top-scored with 30, Sumit Admane, Prajwal Harne and Avishkar Deshmukh took two wickets each for Sakal.

Later, former VCA president Sudhir Dabir presented the man of the match award to Harshal.
