Junaid Sheikh took four wickets and then scored crucial unbeaten 31 runs as Navbharat defeated Punyanagari by two wickets to storm into the final of the ongoing SMHRC-SJAN 25th Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground on Thursday.
Navbharat bundled out Punyanagari at 89 all out in 16.2 overs with Sheikh taking four wickets from 3.2 overs. Abhishek Singh snared two.
Punyanagari’s Deepak Mane scored highest 18 runs while Satish Astankar managed 12.
In reply, Navbharat’s innings wobbled but Sheikh, who walked in at No 7 hit 28-ball 31 with the help of three fours and two sixes to take his side into the final.
Abhishek Tiwari scored 14.
Punyanagari’s Mane took five wickets.
Ravi Meghe, Member, BOM, DMIHER (DU) and Dr Sudhir Singh, Assistant Medical Superintendent, SMHRC, gave away the man of the match award to Sheikh.
