Mane takes hat-trick as Punyanagari enter semi-final
Deepak Mane took a split over hat-trick as Punyanagari stormed into the semi-final of the ongoing SMHRC-SJAN 25th Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament being played at Vasant Nagar ground.
The tournament is organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN).
Mane took two wickets from the last two deliveries of his second over and then another on the first deliver of his third over to complete his hat-trick as Punyanagari beat Tarun Bharat by 15 runs in the last Super Six encounter.
In all, Mane took six wickets in the match from 3.4 overs conceding 27 runs.
Punyanagari posted a below par 110 runs in 17.4 overs.
Sunil Khorgade top scored with 15 while Shrikant Kotgule, Pankaj Pande and Shrikant Bondre scored 14 each.
For Tarun Bharat, Atul Shivankar took four wickets.
In reply, Tarun Bharat were all out for 95 runs in 14.4 overs.
Om Dhakulkar scored 31 runs while Rajesh Vyavhare managed.
Apart from Mane, Pankaj Pande and Sanjay Thakre took two wickets for Punyanagari.
In the first semis, Punyanagari will take on Navbharat on Thursday while Times of India meet Lokmat on Friday.
Sharad Padhye, former joint secretary, VCA, gave the man of the match award to Mane.
