Nitin Baitule scored a half century and then took three crucial wickets as Sakal stunned defending champions Lokmat by 39 runs in a Super Six match of the ongoing SMHRC-SJAN 25th Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground on Friday. The tournament is organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN).
Batting first, Sakal rode on Baitule’s 50 to post 152 for seven in 20 overs. His 25-ball knock was laced with six boundaries and two sixes. Pratik Vairagade contributed 32 runs from 35 deliveries with four balls to the fence.
For Lokmat, Sharad Mishra took three wickets and Sachin Khadke one.
In reply, Lokmat were bundled out for 113 runs in 16.4 overs. Mishra scored 36 while Nitin Pataria managed 17 runs.
Baitule took three wickets for 20 runs while Sumit Admane took four for 21.
Abhishek Iyengar, Media Head, Vicco, gave the man of the match award to Baitule for his all-round performance.
