Sandeep Dabhekar’s all-round show helped Times of India defeat Punyanagari by 10 runs in the Super Six League of the ongoing SMHRC-SJAN 25th Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur at Vasant Nagar ground on Thursday.
Opener Dabhekar first hit run-a-ball 43 runs with the help of three boundaries and a six and then took one wicket conceding 23 runs to win the man of the match award.
Times of India posted 137 for three in 20 overs.
Apart from Dabhekar, Mandar Moroney hit his second half century of the tournament (59) from 51 deliveries which was laced with seven boundaries.
In reply, Punyanagari managed 126 for six in 20 overs.
Shrikant Kotgule scored 39 runs from 29 balls hitting four boundaries while Sunil Khorgade added 18 runs.
Times of India’s Rammurthy Nerley took two wickets for 19 runs.
Dabhekar received man of the match award at the hands of MLA Vikas Thakre.
