Nitin Pataria snared eight wickets as Lokmat defeated Times of India by four wickets and moved into the second round of the ongoing SMHRC-SJAN 25th Inter-Press Invitational T20 Cricket Tournament.
The tournament is organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at Vasant Nagar ground.
Pataria created a tournament record taking eight wickets in a match as Times of India were bundled out at 122 in 18 overs. Harshal Kuthe was the top scorer with 74 runs from 46 deliveries which had six boundaries and five maximums. Sandeep Dabhekar scored 20.
Pataria single-handedly derailed Times of India innings taking eight wickets from four overs conceding 19 runs.
In reply, Lokmat achieved the target in 15.2 overs losing six wickets.
Sharad Mishra hit 23-ball 38 while Sachin Khadke added 22 from 19 deliveries.
For Times of India, Rammurthy Nerley took four wickets for 24 while Mandar Moroney took one.
Amit Gandhare, PRO, Raisoni Group, gave the man of the match award to Pataria.
