Sharad Mishra roared back to form as he smacked a half century to help Lokmat thrash Navbharat by six wickets in the Super Six League of the ongoing SMHRC-SJAN 25th Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at Vasant Nagar ground on Wednesday.
Mishra hit a 38-ball 79 with the help of 13 boundaries and two sixes as Lokmat achieved the target of 152 in 15.3 overs losing four wickets.
The opening pair of Mishra and Nitin Pataria (35) added 119 runs to take the match away from Navbharat. Navbharat rode on Nilesh Doye’s 41-ball 47 to post 151 for five in 20 overs. Doye hit four boundaries and a six.
Junaid Shaikh remained unbeaten on 38 from 23 deliveries hitting three fours and two maximums. For Lokmat, Sachin Khadke took two wickets.
Irfan Razzak, Secretary, Royal Cricket Association, gave the man of the match award to Mishra. Kunal Bhumralkar was also present.
