Anupam Soni of The Hitavada and Nilesh Deshpande of Lokmat Times became first recipients of the Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur’s (SJAN) scholarship programme.
The two sports journalists were selected by the executive committee on September 30.
They would be covering two One-Day Internationals between India and England to be held at New Delhi and Mohali, informs a press release issued by Kishor Bagde, secretary, SJAN.
SJAN has started the scholarship programme with an aim to give exposure to local sports journalists during national/international events.
A total of four journalists would be covering national/international events in one financial year, it was decided during the meeting.
