Good response to Media Walkathon 2016

Sharma, Tiwari, Anita, Ranjana triumph

Rajesh Sharma, Alok Tiwari, Anita Peddulwar and Ranjana Gondane emerged winners in their respective categories in 4th Tirupati Urban Co-operative Bank  Media Walkathon that was organised by Sports Journalist's Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at Dr Ambedkar College ground on Sunday
Diabetes Care Foundation of India (Nagpur) was the co-sponsor of the event. In below 50 years men's category, Rajesh Sharma of Lokmat clocked 24:48.43 seconds to achieve first place. Govind Hatwar of Sakal finished runners-up with a timing 24: 55. 53. Dharmendra Kumar (TOI 24: 58.15), Nikhil  Page (Lokmat 25: 50.18) and Ranjeet Karutkar (Dainik Bhaskar 26: 20.18) finished third to fifth respectively. 
In above 50 section, veteran journalist Alok Tiwari of The Times of India emerged winner with a timing 27: 05.20. Lokmat's Arvind Upre followed him for second place. Gajanan Koche also from Lokmat achieved third place followed by Rakesh Sahu and Rajendraprasas Singh , both from Dainik Bhaskar for fourth and fifth place respectively. 
Dainik Bhaskar won all the five prizes in women 2-kilometre race. The winners were Anita Peddulwar, Sonali Singh, Anita Shrivastava, Charulata Patil and Fauziya Sheikh. 
In family section, Ranjana Gondane  triumphed. Sarita Hurmade, Vaishali Nagdeote, Sunita Sharma and Sangita Ambadwar followed her for second to fifth place. 
Chief manager of Tirupati Urban Co-operative Bank  Rajendra Raut,vice president of bank Narayan Ahuja,  trustee of Diabetes Care Foundation of India (Nagpur) SP Gupta, COO of Lata Mangeshkar Hospital Sanjay Pratap Jog and social worker Pramod Tabhane distributed the prizes. 
NDAA secretarySharad Suryavanshi, Shiv Chhatrapati awardee Girish Gadge and others were also present on the occasion.

Above 50 year (4km): 1. Alok Tiwari (TOI 27:05. 20), 2. Arvind Upare (Lokmat 27:13.20), 3. Gajanan Koche  (Lokmat 27:25:50) , 4. Rakesh Shahu (Dainik Bhaskar  27:28.15), 5. Rajendraprasad Singh (Dainik Bhaskar 27:42.17). 
Women (2-km):1. Anita Peddulwar (Dainik Bhakar 16:31.18), 2. Sonali Singh (Dainik Bhaskar 16: 52. 87), 3. Anita Shrivastava (Dainik Bhaskar 17:13. 32), 4. Charulata Patil (Dainik Bhaskar 17:20.22), 5. Faujiya Sheikh (Dainik  Bhaskar 17: 25.18). 
Women (family 2-km):1. Ranjana Gondane (16:21.41), 2. Sarita Hurmade (16:25:20), 3. Vaishali Nagdeote (16: 30. 55), 4. Sunita Sharma (16: 48.20), 5. Sangita Ambadwar (17: 32.75).

New SJFI body elected

Nagpur, June 26: Kishor Bagde of Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) has been elected as the vice-president of Sports Journalists’ Federation of India (SJFI) during an annual general body meeting of the federation held in the city on Sunday.

Whole 15-member body was elected unopposed. Assam’s Subodh Baruah has been elected new president for two year term. A Vinod of Kerala has been elected as new secretary. Dara Pochkanwala was the returning officer and he was assisted by Amit Shah.
