Lokmat's Ashish Jain & Meenal Jain win singles crown; Navbharat pair of Mahesh Sarangi and SS Ahmad stun top seeds for doubles title 

Ashish Jain and Meenal Jain both of Lokmat emerged winners of the singles men and women categories, respectively in the Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur organised Suyash Herbal Badminton Tournament for Media Employees. 

The tournament was held in association with Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU and Nagpur District Badminton Association at Subhedar Hall. 

In the men's singles final, Jain defeated Mahesh Sarangi of Lokmat 21-17, 21-12 to clinch the title. 

In women's Singles title clash, Lokmat's Meenal Jain beat Deepika Gedekar of Navbharat 25-23, 21-9.

In men's doubles, the pair of Mahesh Sarangi and S S Ahmad of Navbharat defeated Lokmat's Ashish Jain and Raviraj Ambadwar 22-20, 17-21, 21-15.

Mangesh Kashikar, Senior Vice-president, Maharashtra Badminton Association and Secretary, Nagpur District Badminton Association and Dr Sharad Suryawansh, Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University were the guests. Tournament Convenor Sujan Masid, SJAN Secretary Paritosh Pramanik, Treasurer Nilesh Deshpande, Kshitij Udar, Nikhil Kelapure and others were also present. 

SJAN President Dr Ram Thakur conducted the prize distribution function. 

Lokesh Gajendra, Muninder Badoni and Anup Kadwe were the referees.

Jain, Sharma, Sarangi, Masid in line for twin titles




Ashish Jain, Rajesh Sharma both of Lokmat, Mahesh Sarangi of Navbharat and Sujan Masid of Dainik Bhaskar are in line for twin titles in the Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur organised Suyash Herbal Badminton Tournament For Media Employees being played at Subhedar Hall.
The tournament is being organised in association with Department of Physical Education and Sports, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University and Nagpur District Badminton Association.
The semi-final and final will be played on Sunday starting from 9.30 am. The final will be followed by prize distribution function. Vikas Ahuja, Director, Suyash Herbal will be the chief guest. Mangesh Kashikar, Senior Vice-President, Maharashtra Badminton Association and Secretary, Nagpur District Badminton Association and Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Physical Education and Sports, RTMNU, will be the guests of honour.

Badminton tournament for media persons begins





Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) organised Suyash Healthcare Badminton Tournament For Media Employees at Subhedar Hall, Ravi Nagar on Friday. 

The tournament is being organised in association with the Department of Sports and Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University and Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA).

Vikas Ahuja of Suyash Healthcare Group, Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director of Department of Sports and Physical Education, RTM Nagpur University and Dr Satish Gawande inaugurated the competition. 

SJAN Secretary Paritosh Pramanik, Treasurer Nilesh Deshpande, Tournament Convenor Sujan Masid, Naresh Shelke, Nikhil Kelapure and others were present. 

Naresh Shelke conducted the programme and proposed a vote of thanks.

Media badminton tourney from Friday (May 5)





Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) is organising Suyash Herbal badminton tournament for media employees from  Friday at Subhedar Hall, Amravati road from 9.15 am to 12 noon.

The tournament is being organised in association with the Department of Sports and Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University and Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA).

Lokmat's Ashish Jain has been given top seeding in the men's singles whereas Mahesh Sarangi (Navbharat) is seeded two. In the doubles, Mahesh Sarangi- SS Ahmed have been given top billing whereas Ashish Jain-Raviraj Ambadwar are seeded two. In the women's singles Meenal Jain (Lokmat) has been given top seeding.

Vikas Ahuja of Suyash Healthcare Group, director of Department of Sports and Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University Dr Sharad Suryawanshi and the senior vice president of Maharashtra Badminton Association and NDBA secretary Mangesh Kashikar will grace the inaugural function at 10 a.m. However the matches will begin at 9.15 a.m.

Three events including men's singles, men's doubles and women's singles will be organised. Cash prizes and attractive trophies will be given to winners, runners-up and semi-finalists.
