TOI 'B' win penalty kick contest, handball players feted
Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) celebrated
International Sports Journalists' Day with lot of enthusiasm by
organising penalty kick competition and felicitating junior handball
girls team members at RTM Nagpur University playground on Thursday.
In
the penalty kick competition The Times of India 'B' team consisting of Sandeep Dabhekar, Anjaya Anaparthi and Dharmendra Kumar emerged winner
defeating The Hitavada 'C' team comprising Rahul Dixit, Paritosh
Pramanik and Hitesh Limbachia 2-0.
In a hardline final, TOI
'E' defeated SJAN 'C' 2-1. The winning team was represented by Amit
Sampat, Suhas Nayse and Shashi Rahate. SJAN 'C' include Shailesh Mishra,
Shreyas and Ashish Roy.
Continuing its tradition to do some
charity , SJAN honoured Nagpur district junior handball girls team
members who won the State championship held at Ratnagiri recently. They
were Poonam Kadav, Rohini Bhute, Shubhangi Shende, Nitisha Kadav,
Karishma Durve, Ayushi Nehare, Prachi Hadke, Poornima Dahat, Komal
Wairagade, sakshi Bhotmange, Radhika Bhotmange and their coach Dr Sunil
Bhotmange. They were given kit bags on the behalf of SJAN.
Director
of Department of Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University Dr
Dhananjay Welukar, former international handdball player Prof. Atmaram
Pande, Dadoji Konddeo awardee Sitaram Bhotmange, SSK Naidu and NUWJ
secretary Anupam Soni graced the occasion. SJAN secretary Kishor Bagde
conducted proceedings while president Dr Ram Thakur proposed a vote of
thanks.
