Debate competition on overkill of cricket today
SJAN-Tapovan School joint ventureSports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with Tapovan School is organising an Inter-School Debate Competition on September 26, 2011 at Sanskritik Sabhagruh, Pande Layout at 12.30 p.m.
The topic of the competition is 'Overkill of cricket'. Ten schools including host Tapovan School, Somalwar High School Nikalas, South Point School, School of Scholars, VT Convent, Raisoni Vidyaniketan, Saraswati Vidyalaya, Pt. Baccharaj High School, RS Mundle School and Centre Point School are participating in the competition.
President of Swagat Educational and Cultural Society which runs Tapovan School Advocate Arvind Kulkarni will inaugurate the competition. Editor of The Hitavada Vijay Phanshikar and Advocate Kulkarni will grace the prize distribution function. Former Vidarbha Ranji captain Praveen Hingnikar and Shraddha Bharadwaj would be the judges. The winner will be awarded Rs 3,000 and trophy while the runner-up will get Rs 2,000 and trophy. The third prize will be Rs 1,000 and trophy. Apart from it, each participant will get certificate.
Each team consist of two students, one will speak in favour and one against subject. A competitor can use any of the following language English, Hindi or Marathi. Each candidate will be allotted four minutes to speak on his topic.
Judges decision will be final and the results will be declared immediately after the competition.The teams have been asked to report at 12 noon at the venue.
