पुण्य नगरी' विजयासह उपांत्य फेरीत

नागपूर : श्रीधर हातागडेची अष्टपैलू कामगिरी आणि श्रीकांत कोटगुळेची उत्कृष्ट फलंदाजी व संजय ठाकरे व पंकज पांडेच्या भेदक गोलंदाजीच्या जोरावर दै. 'पुण्य नगरी' ने तिसºया साखळी सामन्यात नवभारतला ६० धावांनी पराभवाचा धक्का दिला. या विजयाच्या बळावर 'पुण्य नगरी' ने 'ब' गटात अव्वल स्थान प्राप्त करीत स्पोर्ट्स जर्नालिस्ट असोसिएशन आॅफ नागपूर (एसजेएएन) तर्फे आयोजित २४ व्या आंतरप्रेस टी-२० क्रिकेट स्पर्धेच्या उपांत्य फेरीत धडक दिली.'पुण्य नगरी' ची उपांत्य लढत १ मार्चला टाइम्स आॅफ इंडियाविरुद्ध होणार आहे.
वसंतनगर मैदानावर मंगळवारी झालेल्या सामन्यात 'पुण्य नगरी'ने नाणेफेक जिंकून प्रथम फलंदाजी करीत निर्धारित २० षटकांत ५ बाद १५२ धावा केल्या. सलामीवीर श्रीकांत कोटगुळेने कोटगुळे ३५ धावा (२९ चेंडू, ४ चौकार, १ षटकार) केल्या. श्रीधर हातागडे ४९ धावांवर (४२ चेंडू, ६ चौकार, १ षटकार) नाबाद राहिला. दीपक माने व श्रीकांत बोंद्रेने प्रत्येकी आठ धावा केल्या. मनीष श्रीवासने चार व राहुल अभ्यंकरने एक गडी बाद केला.
विजयाचा पाठलाग करणाºया नवभारतला संजय ठाकरे व श्रीधर हातागडेने भेदक मारा करीत १५ धावांत पाच धक्के दिले. यानंतर जुनेद शेखने (११), अभिषेक तिवारीने (१६) व चैतन्य कलपेने (२३) धावा केल्या. अन्य फलंदाज धावा करण्यात अपयशी ठरल्यामुळे नवभारतचा डाव १६ षटकांत ९२ धावांच संपुष्टात आला. संजय ठाकरे व श्रीधर हातागडेने प्रत्येकी तीन, पंकज पांडेने दोन व दीपक मानेने एक गडी बाद केला. बापुना ग्रुपचे परहेज गिमी यांच्या हस्ते अष्टपैलू कामगिरी करणाºया श्रीधर हातागडेला सामनावीर म्हणून गौरविण्यात आले.

 

Punyagarari storm into semis, Hatgade shines

Shridhar Hatgale displayed all-round performance as Punyanagari defeated Navbharat by 60 runs to enter the semis in the 24th Ankur Seeds-SJAN Inter-Press Invitational Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at Vasant Nagar ground, here on Tuesday.

With this victory, the semi-finalists have also been identified. Defending champions Lokmat will play Sakal on February 29 followed by second semi-final between The Times of India and Punyanagri on March 1.

Batting first Punyanagari scored 152 losing five wickets in 20 overs. Shridhar Hatgade top scored with 49 (42b, 6x4, 1x6) and he was well supported by Shrikant Kotgule (35). For Navbharat, Manish Shriwas claimed four wickets.

In reply, Navbharat were all out for 92 in 16 overs. Chaitanya Kaple (23), Abhishek Tiwari (16) and Junaid Sheikh (11) were the main scorers. For Punyanagari, Sanjay Thakre and Shridhar Hatgade captured three wickets each. Bapuna Group director Parheez Giri distributed man-of-the-match prize to Hatgade,

On Wednesday, the last league match will be played between Dainik Bhaskar and Loksatta at 8.30 a;m.

 

Prajwal's all-round show in Sakal victory

Riding on the outstanding performance of captain Nitin Baitule and man-of-the-match Prajwal Harne, Sakal drubbed Tarun Bharat by 162 runs to keep semifinals hope alive in the 24th Ankur Seeds-SJAN Inter- Press Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground on Monday.

Batting first, Sakal piled up 201 for five in 20 overs. Baitule top scored with 63 whereas Prajwal contributed 38. Pratik Wairagade (36) also batted well. In reply, Tarun Bharat were bundled out for a poor total of 39. Harne bowled well and captured six wickets while Nilesh Doye got three.

Former national carrom player and LIC officer Naval Meshram distributed the man-of-the-match prize to Harne.

नागपूर,ता.२६ ः कर्णधार नितीन बैतुलेचे नाबाद अर्धशतक व सामनावीर प्रज्वल हरणेच्या दमदार गोलंदाजीच्या जोरावर सकाळने २४ व्या आंतर प्रेस क्रिकेट स्पर्धेत तरुण भारतवर १६२ धावांनी दणदणीत विजय मिळवला. या विजयामुळे सकाळच्या उपांत्य फेरीत स्थान मिळविण्याच्या आशा उंचावल्या आहेत.
वसंतनगर मैदानावर सकाळने प्रथम फलंदाजी करताना ५ बाद २०१ धावा केल्या. तरुण भारतचा डाव ३९ धावांवर गडगडला. सलामीवीर प्रज्वलने सहा चौकार मारीत ३८ धावा केल्या. नितीन बैतुलेने नाबाद अर्धशतक करून संघाला सन्मानजनक धावसंख्या उभारून दिली. नितीनने ७ चौकार व २ षटकार खेचत ३५ चेंडूत ६३ धावा केल्या. प्रतीक वैरागडेने तडाखेबंद फलंदाजी करीत १६ चेंडूत ४ चौकार व ३ षटकाराच्या मदतीने ३६ धावा केल्या. तरुण भारतचा संघ केवळ ३९ धावांवर सर्वबाद झाला. प्रज्वल हरणेने सहा गडी टिपण्याची किमया साधली. नीलेश डोयेने ३ गडी बाद केले. माजी राष्ट्रीय कॅरमपटू असलेले नवल मेश्राम यांच्या हस्ते प्रज्वलला सामनावीर पुरस्कार देण्यात आला.

 

 

Shriwas takes Lokmat into semi-finals

NITIN Shriwas scored a half century and then took three wickets to help Lokmat beat Loksatta by 127 runs and escort them into the semi-finals of the ongoing Ankur Seeds-SJAN 24th Inter-Press Invitational T20 Cricket Tournament being played at Vasant Nagar ground on Friday. Batting first, Lokmat rode on Shriwas’ 76 runs to post 219 in 20 overs. Shriwas slammed seven fours and five sixes in his 31 balls knock. Sharad Mishra scored 34 from 24 deliveries with seven boundaries. For Loksatta, Rajesh Thakre and Prashant Roy took two wickets each.
In reply, Shriwas took three wickets for 17 runs as Loksatta innings folded at 92 runs. Manoj Chandankhede top scored with 33 for the losing side. Tejinde
