Sakal pip Loksatta by 6 wkts



























In a close tie, Sakal pipped Loksatta with four ball to spare and six wickets in 12th Orange City Hospital Cup Invitational Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Central Railway Ajni ground, here on Monday.The tournament is being organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) and sponsored by Orange City Hospital and Research Institute (OCHRI). With this victory, Sakal finished second in the Group ‘A’ followed by Loksatta. The Hitavada have already topped the group winning all their league matches. From Group ‘B’, Times of India, Lokmat and Tarun Bharat have qualify for Super Six stage. Batting first, Loksatta scored 125 runs losing seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Middle-order batsman Amol Sultane scored brilliant half century (57) with the help of three boundaries and three sixes.



Opening batsman Devendra Sadavarti (35) also batted well.For Sakal, medium pacer Avishkar Deshmukh scalped three wickets conceding 18 runs.In reply, Sakal chased the target in 19.2 overs. Thanks to opener Kishor Jamkar who slammed 45 in 34 balls with the help of nine boundaries and one six. Rajesh Vyavhare played a patient unbeaten knock of 34 while Avishkar Deshmukh contributed 22. Jamkar was declared man-of-the-match. There will be no match on Tuesday. On Wednesay The Hitavada will take on Tarun Bharat at Ajni ground while Loksatta will clash with Times of India.Scores in brief
Loksatta: 125 for 7 in 20 overs (Amol Sultane 57, Devendra Sadavarti 35, Nikhil Salunke 12, Avishkar Deshmukh 3 for 18). Sakal: 127 for 4 in 19.2 overs (Kishor Jamkar 45, Rajesh Vyavhare 34*, Avishkar Deshmukh 22, Piyush Patil 1 for 24, Sachin Turak 1 for 19).Result: Sakal won by six wickets.
