NINE-TIME champions The Hitavada will meet The Times of India in the first semi-final of the 14th SJAN-Orange City Hospital Cup Inter-Press T20 Cricket Tournament on Sunday afternoon. The match will begin at 1 pm at Ambedkar College ground, Deekshabhoomi.
The tournament is organised by Sports Journalists Association of Nagpur.
After the league stage The Hitavada had emerged topper of Group ‘A’ followed by Lokmat. In Group ‘B’ Punyanagari took the top spot on better quotient than Times of India.
The semi-final promises to be a cracker of a contest as both teams boast of some utility players. Pravin Lokhande has remained the mainstay of The Hitavada with his all-round skills while Tushar Shukla has carried ToI with the same zeal.
The second semi-final will be played on Monday, January 23 from 9 am between Punyanagari and Lokmat at the same venue.
Final is slated on January 24 at Ambedkar College ground.
