Pravin Lokhande, in the company of Abhimanyu Garud, went berserk as ‘The Hitavada’ comprehensively defeated ‘Sakal’ by eight wickets in the Super Sixes of the SJAN-OCHRI Inter-Press T20 cricket meet played at Vasant Nagar.
In another match played at Dr Ambedkar College ground, former champions 'Lokmat' continued their fine run to record an 87 runs win against Times of India
At Vasant Nagar, ‘Sakal’ were restricted to 120-9 in 20 overs.
Pankaj Borkar (53, 8x4) and Sunil Thawkar (50, 7x4) scored half centuries.
Man of the match Lokhande was pick of the bowlers picking two wickets conceding just 13 runs from his quota of four overs. Skipper Susheem Kolay (2-22) and Pawan Sawade (2-21) too chipped in.
In reply, ‘The Hitavada’ chased down the target in 10.2 overs. The impetus was provided by Rahul Dixit (14, 7b, 1x4, 1x6). Lokhande (46*, 28b, 7x4, 1x6) and Garud (38, 20b, 8x4) continued with the same vigour to stitch a 64-run partnership from 33 balls.
At Dr Ambedkar College ground, ‘Lokmat’ defeated ‘Times of India’ by 87 runs.
Batting first ‘Lokmat’ posted a huge 186-7 in 20 overs with Sharad Mishra scoring 33-ball 55 runs. He slammed six fours and a six. Nitin Patariya took slammed identical boundaries for his 33-ball 45. Amit Khodke made 41 with the help of six balls to the fence. For 'ToI', Rupesh Bhaik took three wickets.
In reply, ‘ToI’ were restricted to 99-8. Suhas Nayse strolled to a 42-ball 29 with one boundary. Piyush Patil scored 14.
Man of the match Amit Khodke took three wickets while Deven Sadavarti and Nitin Patariya took two each.
On Tuesday: ‘Lokshahi Varta’ vs ‘ToI’ (Ambedkar ground), ‘Punyanagari vs ‘Sakal’ (Vasant Nagar).
