Dainik Bhaskar, Lokshahi Varta record win


Dainik Bhaskar and Lokshahi Varta recorded easy wins in league matches of the 17th Allahabad Bank-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) on Tuesday.
At Vasant Nagar ground, Dainik Bhaskar, opting to bat first, piled up 173 for 3 in 20 overs. Skipper Rahul Thakur scored 54-ball 68 while opener Sujan Masid cracked 42-ball 57. Sachin Mokharkar (18) and Gaurav Shahu (13) too chipped in with useful contributions. For De-shonnati Piyush Patil, Sandip Dhamde, Vivek Baithale took one wicket each. Rahul Thakur was adjudged man of the match. 
In reply Deshonnati managed 139 all out in 20 overs as Bhaskar won by 34 runs. Vijendra Yadav scored 33 for Deshonnati. Bandu Dhore, Pankaj Jain, Sachin Mokharkar took two wickets each to give Dainik Bhaskar second win of the tournament.
At Ambedkar College Ground, Lokshahi Varta defeated Tarun Bharat in low-scoring affair. Batting first, Tarun Bharat managed 120 for 7 in 20 overs. Mannu Bawa (34) and Nitin Baitule (32) were the main scorers as five run outs proved costly for Tarun Bharat. For Lokshahi Varta, Abhay Dube and Sarang Chavan took one wicket each.
Lokshahi Varta reached the target in 15.3 overs thanks to 48-run knock from skipper Sarang Chavan who was also adjudged man of the match. Sumit Vishwakarma contributed with quickfire 33. For Tarun Bharat Amar Anney took two wickets.

Tarun Bharat 120 for 7 in 20 overs (Mannu Bawa 34, Nitin Baitule 32, Lakhan Jaiswal 16, Ankush Niwrale 10; Abhay Dube 1-19, Sarang Chavan 1-20) lost to Lokshahi Vaarta 121-4 in 15.3 overs (Sarang Cha-van 48, Sumit Vishwakarma 33, Sandup Ganar 14, Abhay Dube not out 6; Amar Anney 2-22, Mannu Rawa 1-18, Ankush Hiwarale 1-18) by six wickets.
