Lokhande’s unbeaten 117 takes The Hitavada into SF

PRAVIN Lokhande blazed to a sizzling unbeaten 117 to take ten-time champions The Hitavada into the semi-finals of the ongoing 17th Allahabad Bank SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament, on Thursday.
Riding on Lokhande’s century, The Hitavada cantered to a 78-run win over Tarun Bharat at Vasantnagar ground.
Lokhande, in search of a good outing, chose the occasion to play a brilliant knock (117* in 58 balls) that had 17 fours and a big six.
The Hitavada posted 201 for 4 in 20 overs thanks to Lokhande’s blitzkrieg and opener Anupam Timothy’s quick 37 (24b, 7x4, 1x6).
Tarun Bharat made 123 for 6 in reply. Nitin Baitule made 37.
For The Hitavada, Timothy took 2 for 14 and Ramamurty Nerlay picked 2 for 35. 
Vinay Pande and Rahul Dixit got a wicket each.
In another match, Mandar Moroney’s fine 69 and Aniruddha Pande’s 50 not out helped Indian Express-Loksatta beat Deshonnati by five runs. IE-Loksatta made 151 for 3 and restricted Deshonnati to 146 for 5.
