TOI, Bhaskar record convincing victories

The Times of India and Dainik Bhaskar recorded emphatic victories over their opponents in 17th Allahabad Bank-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) on Wednesday.

At Vasant Nagar ground, TOI thrashed Deshonnati by nine wickets. Batting first Deshonnati could able to score 85 for nine in 20 overs. Abhijit Kaurati (28) and Rajesh Mishra (21not out) were main scorers. For TOI, Faizul Qumar (4 for 17) was the most successful bowler. In reply, TOI chased down the target in 12 overs losing just one wicket of Subodh Ratnaparkhi (22). Piyush Patil (27) and Suhas Nayse (23) remained unbeaten.

In another tie at Ambedkar College, Dainik Bhaskar drubbed IE-Loksatta by eight wickets. Batting first Loksatta made 110 for 7 with significant contribution came from Rajeshwar Thakre (23) and Pramod Pardhi (21). In reply, Dainik Bhaskar achieved the target in 12 overs losing two wickets.Thanks to Rahul Thakur who knocked off unbeaten 43. He was well supported by Gaurav Sahu (30)

TOI: 86 for 1 in 12 overs (Piyush Patil 27*, Suhas Nayse 23*, Subodh Ratnaparkhi 22).

Result: TOI won by nine wickets

IE-Loksatta: 110 for 7 in 20 overs (Rajeshwar Thakre 23 (26 b, 4x4), Pramod Pardhi 21*, Sudarshan Sakharkar 14, Pankaj Jain 2 for 15, Sachin Mokharkar 2 for 11).

Dainik Bhaskar: 114 for 2 in 12 overs (Rahul Thakur 43* (26b, 7x4), Gaurav Sahu 30 (6x4), Sachin Mokharkar 17 *, Chetan Gadwaikar 15).

Result: Dainik Bhaskar won by eight wickets.
