Lokhande stars in Lokmat victory

TOI win by five wickets

Riding on Pravin Lokhande's sparkling unbeaten 90-run knock, Lokmat drubbed Dainik Bhaskar by 90 runs to record their second victory in OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Invitational Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground on Saturday. 
Batting first Lokmat amassed 176 for four in 20 overs. Lokhande smashed  63-ball 90  with the help of 14 boundaries. Skipper Amit Khodke (28) and Nitin Patariya (25) gave him good company. 
In reply, Dainik Bhaskar were restricted to 86 for nine. Avinash  Bhagat remained unbeaten on 28 while Sujan Masid contributed 15. For Lokmat Sharad Mishra (3 for 14) was the most successful bowler. 
In other tie The Times of India defeated Tarun Bharat by five wickets. 
Earlier the players were introduced to  NIT chief engineer SS Gujjelwar and former Vidarbha Ranji trophy player Hemant Wasu . 
Today's match: The Hitavada vs Loksatta-IE at Vasant Nagat at 9.30 a.m.

Tarun Bharat: 112 all out in 18.3 overs (Nitin Baitule 40, Umesh Sardar 22*, Lakhan Jaiswal 19, Samdeep Dabhekar  3 for 17, Piyush Patil 3 for 27, Faizul Qumar and Sandeep Wardhane two each).
TOI: 113 for 5 in 14.4 overs (Suobdh Ratnaparkhi 37, Piyush Patil 32 *, Rupesh Bhaik 22, Roshan Tamboli 2 for 24).
Result: TOI won by five wickets.

Lokmat win by nine wickets

Lokshahi Varta beat Tarun Bharat


Nagpur, Jan. 22: Lokmat drubbed Deshonnati by nine wickets whereas Lokshahi varta recorded 27 run victory over Tarun Bharat in OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Invitational T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur on Friday.
At Ambedkar College ground, batting first Deshonnati were bundled out for a paltry 89 in 20 overs. Ashay Mategaonkar (29) and  Sachin Kanchankar (17) offered some resistance before the disciplined bowling of Sharad Mishra, Deven Sadavarti and Pravin Lokhande who claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Lokmat achieved the target losing just one wicket in 9.5 overs. Mishra played a strokeful knock of 59 hitting nine boundaries in 39 balls. Skipper Amit Khodke remained unbeaten on 23. Mishra was declared man-of-the-match.
At Vasant Nagar, Lokshahi Varta scored 172 for nine. Thanks to lower order batsman Nikhil Kelapure who smashed 60 hitting ten boundaries. Abhishek Kulkarni (26) and Sachin Kadbe (23) also batted well.
In reply, Tarun Bharat could able to score 145 for seven. Nitin Baitule top scored with 46. Mannu Bawa (37) and Ankush Hiwrale (17) were other scorers. Kelapure was declared man-of-the-match.
