OCW-SJAN Inter-Press cricket from today

Nagpur, Jan. 15: The 18th edition of OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Invitational Cricket Tournament will start on Saturday at Vasant Nagar ground at 9.30 a.m.
The
Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) has organised the
tournament. This year Orange City Water (OCW) has sponsored the
tournament. Vithoba Industries Pvt. Ltd are the co-sponsor. Director of
OCW Arun Lakhani will inaugurate the tournament at 9 a.m.
Kartik Shende of Vithoba Industries, principal of Dhanwate National
College Dr Babanrao Taywade and OCW PRO Sachin Dravekar will also grace
the occasion. An inaugural match will be played between defending
champions The Times of India and Lokshahi Varta
In all ten
teams are participating in the tournament and they have been divided in
two groups. Group A include Times of India, Punyanagari, Lokshahi Varta,
Sakal and Tarun Bharat. Group B consist Lokmat,The Hitavada, Loksatta,
Dainik Bhaskar and Deshonnati. The final will be played on February 7 at Ambedkar College ground.
Earlier on Friday,
CricMedia, the annual souvenir of Sports Journalists' Association of
Nagpur (SJAN), was released at a function held at SJAN's office. OCW
director KNP Singh, CEO Sanjay Roy, Kartik Shende and Sachin Dravekar
were present on the occasion. Dresses to the players were distributed on
the basis of draw. A two-minute silence was observed over the death of
journalist Chandrashekhar Giradkar.

Thakur made introductory remarks while secretary Kishor Bagde conducted
the proceedings and also proposed a vote of thanks.
