20th OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Twenty20 Cricket (Day-12)

Hitavada stun Holders Lokmat to win title


Hitavada stunned defending champions Lokmat by ten wickets to win the title in 20th OCW-SJAN Inter-press Cricket Tournament at Ambedkar College ground on Friday.
The tournament was organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI. Batting first Lokmat lost their wickets at regular interval and were bowled out for a paltry 103 in 19.2 overs. Only Amit Khodke (30) and Sarang Walwatkar (22) showed some resistance. For The Hitavada, Pankaj Borkar claimed three wickers whereas Susheem Kolay and Ravi Daf got two each.
In reply, The Hitavada achieved the target without losing any wicket in 10.1 overs. Kamlesh Waghire (62, 36b, 2x6 10x4) and Anupam Timothy (32, 25b, 1x6, 2x4) completed the formalities.
Champion Vidarbha Ranji team skipper Faiz Fazal, MLAs Samir Meghe, Dr Milind Mane, OCW director KMP Singh, assistant general manager of Nagpur branch  of SBI Mohan Changde, noted chef Vishnu Manohar, sports organiser Anil Ahirkar distributed the prizes.
BSC president Ramesh Thakur, vice-president CP Karkar, former Ranji skipper Hemant Wasu, BabubhaiPatel and others were also present on the occasion.

Lokmat , Hitavada set up summit clash



Nitin Patariya claimed six wickets as defending champions Lokmat set up a summit clash with The Hitavada in 20th OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground on Wednesday.
The tournament has been organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI.
At Vasant Nagar ground, Lokmat drubbed Lokshahi Varta by seven wickets whereas at Ambedkar College ground, The Hitavada defeated The Times of India (TOI) by 33 runs to enter the final.
 Batting first Lokshahi Varta were all out fro 107 in 19.5 overs thanks to Patariya who ripped through the batting line up and claimed six wickets for 13 runs in 3.5 overs. For Lokshshi Varta only Sandip Ganar (27) and Abhay Dube (24) showed resistance.
In reply, Lokmat achieved the target in 11.2 overs losing just three wickets. Pravin Lokhande smashed 51 in just 29 balls hitting ten boundaries. Patariya scored 16-ball 30 smashing six  boundaries. Sharad Mishra remained unbeaten on 14.
At Ambedkar College ground, The Hitavada scored 176 for 7 in 20 overs. Pankaj Borkar top scored with 30. Anupam Timothy (28), Ravi Daf and Nikhil Dixit (22 each) were main scorers.  In reply, TOIcould able to score 1354 for 8 in 20 overs. Vinay Pande's 30-ball 51 went in vain. For The Hitavada Ravi Daf claimed three wickets for 21 runs. Susheem Kolay and Anupam Timothy were chipped in with two each.

Result: The Hitavada won by 33 runs
