Vengsarkar arrives in the city

OCW-SJAN inter-press cricket from today

Former Indian cricketer Dilip Vengsarkar has arrived in the city on Saturday evening  to inaugurate 20th OCW -SJAN Inter Preess Twenty-20 Invitational Cricket Tournament at Ambekkar College ground at 8.30 a.m. on Sunday.
Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) has organised the tournament in association with OCW and State Bank of India. 
 Chief promoter of OCW and MBA president Arun Lakhani will preside over the inaugural function. Assistant general manager of SBI Nagpur Ravindra Patil, assistant general manager of SBI main branch Mohan Changde, vice-principal of Dr Ambedkar College Dr Arvind Joshi and  former Indian cricketer Prashant Vaidya will also grace the occasion.

An inaugural match will be played between defending champion Lokmat and The Hitavada immediately after the inauguration at the same venue. Another match will be played at Vasant Nagar ground between Sakal and Tarun Bharat. 
In all 10 teams are participating the tournament and they  have been divided in two groups. The top two teams of both the groups will
qualify for the semifinal. Defending champions Lokmat, The Hitavada, Punyanagri, Tarun Bharat and Sakal have been placed in Group ‘A’. Group ‘B’ consist of runners up of last edition The Times of India, Lokshahi Varta, Dainik Bhaskar, Loksatta and Deshonnati.
Meanwhile on Friday kits were distributed to the players at the hands of  OCW director KMP Singh, leader of ruling party in NMC Sandeep Joshi, noted sports organiser Anil Ahirkar and Dr Arvind Joshi at a function held at SJAN office.
