20th OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Twenty20 Cricket (Day-12)

Hitavada stun Holders Lokmat to win title


Hitavada stunned defending champions Lokmat by ten wickets to win the title in 20th OCW-SJAN Inter-press Cricket Tournament at Ambedkar College ground on Friday.
The tournament was organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI. Batting first Lokmat lost their wickets at regular interval and were bowled out for a paltry 103 in 19.2 overs. Only Amit Khodke (30) and Sarang Walwatkar (22) showed some resistance. For The Hitavada, Pankaj Borkar claimed three wickers whereas Susheem Kolay and Ravi Daf got two each.
In reply, The Hitavada achieved the target without losing any wicket in 10.1 overs. Kamlesh Waghire (62, 36b, 2x6 10x4) and Anupam Timothy (32, 25b, 1x6, 2x4) completed the formalities.
Champion Vidarbha Ranji team skipper Faiz Fazal, MLAs Samir Meghe, Dr Milind Mane, OCW director KMP Singh, assistant general manager of Nagpur branch  of SBI Mohan Changde, noted chef Vishnu Manohar, sports organiser Anil Ahirkar distributed the prizes.
BSC president Ramesh Thakur, vice-president CP Karkar, former Ranji skipper Hemant Wasu, BabubhaiPatel and others were also present on the occasion.
