Pande, Nayse guide TOI to big win




Vinay Pandey's 78 run knock and Suhas Nayse's four wickets including hat-trick were the highlights of The Times of India's 135-run victory over Dainik Bhaskar in 20th OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Ambedkar College ground on Friday.
The tournament is organised by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur in association with OCW and SBI.
Batting first TOI piled up 203 for 3 in 20 overs. Vinay Pande slammed 78 hitting eight boundaries and three sixes. He was ably supported by Pratik Siddharth (56, 40b 8x4) and Rupesh Bhaik (33 *).
In reply, Nayse claimed four wickets including hat-trick as Dainik Bhaskar were bundle dout for just 68 runs. Dabhekar got two wickets for 15 runs.
At Vasant Nagar ground, Avishkar Deshmukh's all round performance went in vain as Loksatta lost to Deshonnati by five wickets. Batting first Loksatta scored 122 for 7 in 20 overs. Deshmukh played a brilliant knock of 64. In reply, Deshonnati achieved the target sparing five wickets in 14.5 overs. Satishh Kanchankar (33) and Ankit Bhujade (22) were main scorers.
Earlier players were introduced to GM (network five) of SBI Devendra Kumar, DGM (zone 1)  Ravi  Kumar and DGM (zone 2) Rajat Banerjee. Former Ranji captain Hemant wasu was also present on the occasion.

Deshonnati: 123 for 5 in 14.5 overs (Satish Kanchankar 33, Ankit Bhujade 22, Atul Kharad 18, Avishkar Deshmukh 2 for 25)
Result: Deshonnati won by five wickets
MoM: Avishkar Deshmukh
