Nitin Pataria hammered half century as defending champions Lokmat defeated The Times of India by 56 runs in 24th Ankur Seeds-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground here on Saturday.
Batting first Lokmat piled up a huge total of 191 for 7 in 20 overs. Pataria top scored with 56 (22 b, 3x4, 6x6) and he was well supported by Devendra Sadavarti 35 (20 b, 5x4) and Amit Khodke 31 (34 b, 3x4). For The Times of India, Sandeep Dabhekar claimed four wickets conceding 39 runs.
In reply, The Times of India were restricted to 135 for 7 in 20 overs. Rammurthy Nerley 30 (37b, 2x4) and Mandar Moroney 26* (23 b, 4x4) made some efforts but in vain.
For Lokmat, batting hero Pataria captured two wickets for 20 runs while Nitin Shriwas, James Rajan, Devendra Sadavarti, Sharad Mishra and Sarang Walwatkar were chipped in with one each.
Later Ejaz Shami of KIMS Kingsway Hospital, Shrirang Tembhekar of Vicco and Nagorao Bhange of Bhange Classes distributed man-of-the-match prize to Nitin Pataria.
