Deep Sudhakar’s all-round performance helped Navbharat beat Tarun Bharat by 28 runs in Ankur Seeds-SJAN 24th Inter-Press Invitational Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground on Friday.
Batting first, Navbharat scored 164 for 7 in 20 overs. Deep Sudhakar top scored with 45 (32b, 4x7) and was well supported by Rahul Abhyankar who scored 43 (49b, 4x3).
For Tarun Bharat, Mannu Bawa (3 for 19) was the main wicket taker. Atul Shivankar got two for 26.
In reply, Tarun Bharat were restricted to 136 for 8 in 20 overs. Nikhil Kelapure missed half century by just one run. He scored 49 in 48 balls hitting six boundaries.
Om Dhakulkar (20) was another main scorer. For Navbharat, Deep Sudhakar and Junaid Sheikh took two wickets each giving away 19 and 26 runs respectively.
Director of Shankhnad Sunil Kuhikar distributed the man-of-the-match prize.
