Riding on Mandar Moroney’s all-round performance The Times of India thrashed Dainik Bhaskar by a huge margin of 157 runs in Ankur Seeds-SJAN 24th Inter-Press Invitational T20 Cricket Tournament at Vasant Nagar ground, here on Tuesday.
Batting first, TOI piled up a huge total of 204 for 4 in 20 overs. Opener Sandeep Dabhekar slammed 52-ball 76 hitting 15 boundaries. Left-handed Moroney made 46 in 23 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.
For Dainik Bhaskar, Sharad Bagde claimed two wickets for 31 runs. In reply, Dainik Bhaskar lost their wickets in heap were all out for 47 in 10.2 overs. Only Sunil Gajbhiye (22) showed some resistance. For TOI, Moroney and Faizul Qamar captured three wickets each.
IMA president elect Dr Manjusha Giri and senior VP of Maharashtra Badminton Association (MBA) Mangesh Kashikar gave man-of-the-match prize to Moroney.
