Lokhande, Khodke guide Lokmat to final

Nagpur: Thanks to sensible knocks from Praveen Lokhande and skipper Amit Khodke Lokmat made it to the final of the OCW-SJAN Inter-Press T20 Cricket tournament with an easy win over Hitavada on Tuesday.

The Lokhande-Khodke pair made light work of the 153-run target set by Hitavada. The two joined hands with Lokmat in a spot of bother having lost opener Sharad Mishra in the first over with just seven on board. But the second wicket pair made light work of the Hitavada attack as Lokmat raced to 94 inside 10 overs.

Nitin Patariya, coming in after the fall of Khodke, kept the runs ticking to take Lokmat on the cusp of victory. Lokhande scored 61 off 42 balls with nine boundaries while Khodke scored 42 off 30 balls with the help of eight boundaries.

Earlier, in-form opener Anupam Timothy (61) and seasoned Nikhil Dixit (34) guided Hitavada to 153 for 5. Seamer Devendra Sadavarti took two wickets for Lokmat.
