TOI drub Sakal by nine wickets
Opening
pair Sharad Mishra (104, 49b, 20x4) and skipper Amit Khodke (102*, 49b,
18x4) slammed brilliant centuries as Lokmat thrashed Loksatta-IE by
140 runs in ongoing OCW-SJAN Inter-Press Cricket Tournament organised by
Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur at Ambedkar College ground on
Monday.
The day belonged to Mishra and Khodke who made 181
run partnership for first wicket that helped Lokmat to pile up a record
total of 258 losing just two wickets. Mishra made his intention clear
hitting six boundaries to Rajeshwar Thakre in the very first over.
Pravin Lokhande remained unbeaten on 35 in the company of Khodke. In
reply, Loksatta were restricted to 118 for six. Both Mishra and Khodke
were declared joint man-of-the-match.
At Vasant Nagar , The
Times of India drubbed Sakal by nine wickets. Sakal scored 130 for five
in 20 overs. Skipper Pankaj Borkar top scored with 66 runs. For TOI,
Piyush Patil claimed two wickets for 16.
In reply, TOI
achieved the target losing just one wicket thanks to Rupesh Bhaik (81*,
33b, 6x6, 8x4) and Suhas Nayse (42*, 35b, 2x4) who ensured nine wicket
victory. Bhaik was declared man-of-the-match.
