TOI-MT thrash Hitavada by 103 runs, storm into final

Former champions The Times Of India-Maharashtra Times thrashed Hitavada by 103 runs in the semifinal of the 19th Inter-Press Cricket Tournament at Ambedkar College ground on Thursday. The tournament is been organized by Sports Journalists' Association of Nagpur (SJAN) in association with OCW and SBI.
Opting to bat first, TOI-MT piled up 180 for five in 20 overs thanks Vinay Pande’s unbeaten 72. The in-form batsman hit seven boundaries and two sixes in his whirlwind 39-ball knock. Earlier, TOI-MT were given a solid start by openers Subodh Ratnaparkhi (24) and Pratik Siddharth (24). Later, Rupesh Bhaik (28) and Piyush Patil (11) played perfect cameos in company of Pande to take TOI-MT to an imposing total.
The target proved too daunting for Hitavada batting line-up as they were bundled out for just 77 in 13.5 overs. After the early inroads made by Piyush Patil (2 for 20), TOI-MT off-spinner (3 for 6) and medium pacer Vinay Pandian (2 for 8) cleaned up the rest of rival batting line-up cheaply.
HOD of Department of Sports of RS Mundle College Vishakha Joshi presented the man-of-the-match trophy to Vinay Pandey.
